Westborough efficient energy infrastructure firm NORESCO has been awarded a $32.7 million contract to improve energy usage at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi.

The energy savings performance contract project, contracted through the U.S. military and Air Force Civil Engineer Center, will help the air base advance resiliency, security and renewable energy usage while reducing costs, NORESCO said.

The work includes a 1.5-megawatt solar carport array at the base’s commissary, chiller plant optimization controls, cyber-secure direct digital controls and upgrading nearly 30,000 light fixtures.

NORESCO’s newest contract adds to the company’s portfolio of work at U.S. military bases. Since July 2017, the company has announced $184.6 million worth of infrastructure work for the military.
