NORESCO, the Westborough-based energy management company, has inked a $1.3-million agreement to improve energy efficiency in an Indiana county.
Over the life of the 10-year contract, officials in Elkhart County, Ind., expect to save $1.5 million by reducing electricity and natural gas usage. The county’s administration, court and public works buildings will get new digitally controlled energy management systems, lighting upgrades and mechanical improvements.
The county is paying for half of the cost of the upgrades with a 2009 government stimulus grant and financing the rest.
