Westborough-based NORESCO will perform $43 million in facility improvements at Hanscom Air Force Base to save the airport a total of $94 million in energy costs.
The project includes a 4.6-megawatt cogeneration plant, which will improve electrical and steam generating reliability and deliver significant utility cost savings, NORESCO said in a Tuesday press release.
NORESCO will implement long-lasting LED technology, extend natural gas service to select buildings, and replace oil-fired boilers and burners with gas-fired equipment.
