Nichols College will build yet another new residence hall on its Dudley campus thanks to $4 million in tax-exempt bonds issued by the state Health and Education Facilities Authority.
The complex will be called Copper Beech II and it is the second in a three-phase housing expansion at Nichols. Copper Beech I is scheduled to open this fall and was paid for in part by $3.5 million in HEFA tax-exempt bonds. Combined, Copper Beech I and II will include 124 beds in two- and four-bedroom suites that include full kitchens, bathrooms and living areas.
The bond placement for Copper Beech II is with Webster Five Cents Savings Bank.
The school has 1,675 students and said it expects record freshman enrollment in the coming year.
