Nichols College in Dudley named Peter Tympanick as the school’s new vice president for business and finance and its chief financial officer, effective March 1, becoming the third Bryant University official to join Nichols since 2021.
Tympanick replaces Jamie Skowyra in the position. Skowyra left Nichols on Feb. 10 to be the CFO at the University of Hartford.
Tympanick comes to Nichols from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where he served as director of finance for academic affairs, according to a Tuesday press release from Nichols.
As CFO, Tympanick will be the third high-level executive at Nichols who came to the school from Bryant University since 2021, joining President Glenn Sulmasy and Provost Daniel Borgia. Sulmasy was Bryant’s provost when he was tabbed in April 2021 to lead Nichols, and Borgia was Bryant’s dean and professor at its campus in Zhuhai, China, when he was picked in March 2022 to be Nichols’ provost.
Prior to joining Bryant in 2011, Tympanick was a senior associate for financial firm State Street Corp. in Boston.
"Peter's strong background in accounting, finance, budgeting and business process improvement, combined with his higher education experience, will help Nichols College continue to achieve the goals and collective vision outlined in our Embracing Greatness strategic plan," Nichols President Glenn Sulmasy said in the press release. "I look forward to working with Peter as we build upon our efforts to bring Nichols to new heights in our march toward greater regional and national prominence."
