Nichols College will soon expand support for students taking the school’s accounting and finance classes on the back of a $1 million anonymous donation.
A portion of the funds will be used to recruit and retain a faculty member — via an endowed professorship — who can bridge the accounting and finance programs and increase their competitiveness. Additionally, a Finance and Accounting Enhancement Fund will be established to support and enrich existing programs.
“[This] commitment of $1 million will allow us to attract more motivated students and increase our students’ chances of securing gainful employment following graduation,” Nichols College President Susan West Engelkemeyer said in a statement.
