Nichols College will begin two new marketing majors and a finance major this fall it says will better prepare students for shifting industry demands in the coming years.
The Dudley school will soon offer three new majors: digital and social media marketing, marketing analytics, and corporate finance and investments.
Those new marketing offerings will help better meet the increasing demand for marketing professionals with those skills, Nichols said in announcing the new programs. Employment of marketing managers, sales agents, and advertising and promotion managers is expected to grow about 10% through 2026, Nichols said, citing the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics. The employment outlook for market research analysts is projected to grow by 23%, it said.
The new corporate finance and investments major will build on what Nichols says has been success from graduates in finance and investment positions in recent years. Last year, the college created a finance lab to join the roughly 950 educational institutions using Bloomberg investment terminals to give students access to real-time market information to create and manage investment portfolios.
Courses in the program include investments and security analysis, portfolio analysis and management, international finance, and real estate and investments.
