A New Hampshire medical marijuana company will apply for a recreational marijuana retailer license to operate a cannabis shop on Route 30 in Framingham.
A public notice published Friday in the MetroWest Daily News announced a community outreach meeting with Temescal Wellness scheduled for next Thursday at the Framingham Elks Lodge on Union Ave.
The company intends to apply for an adult-use marijuana retailer license at 665 Cochituate Road in Framingham, a multi-tenant commercial building currently the site of a D’Angelos restaurant.
A space formerly occupied by a vegetarian restaurant appears to be vacant, but filings do not indicate which space the company intends to occupy.
According to Massachusetts Department of Health records, Temescal Wellness is currently waiting for approval to operate dispensaries in both Framingham and Hudson. A provisional certificate of registration was issued for each site in June
Companies have been able to apply for marijuana retailer licenses since the beginning of this month after Massachusetts voters passed a law in 2016 to legalize and regulate cannabis products.
In addition to operating two medical marijuana dispensaries in New Hampshire, Temescal Wellness operates a location in Maryland.
