New Worcester urgent care center to open
AFC Doctors Express, which bills itself as the largest independent urgent care provider in Massachusetts, announced plans to open a second Worcester location by the end of 2017.
The company, which currently has 17 locations across Massachusetts, will open a second Worcester location at 926 W. Boylston St. late next year. This is part of an ongoing expansion for the company, which announced the opening of an Arlington location this month, as well as plans to open four additional centers by January.
AFC Doctors Express has referral programs, and services that go beyond traditional clinics, including physicals, drug testing, and workers compensation treatment -- all factors contributing to its growth, according to the company. It also has a partnership with the Central Massachusetts Independent Physicians Association, which allows for better continuity of care between primary care physicians and the urgent care center.
The company has locations in Worcester, Marlborough, Natick and in the greater Springfield and Boston areas. Urgent care centers have been popping up across Massachusetts and the country, with several scheduled to open over the next year.
