A new nightclub with capacity for 400 will open at 90 Commercial St. in Worcester in December, according to a statement by the owners.
BarFX will be a five-room establishment featuring music, dancing, American cuisine and sports television, according to co-owner Rich Hutchinson.
"The building is a new concept in itself, because there are so many spaces," Hutchinson said. "Each little space becomes its own hangout and scene."
BarFX will be the next establishment in a space that has been occupied by a slew of tenants in recent history – most recently A-Men Nighclub – said David Halperin, a spokesman for the ownership group. Halperin said Hutchinson and other owners have successful careers in the entertainment industry booking talents and opening large-scale venues. They do not own any existing Worcester establishments.
The owners are waiting for a liquor license from the city to be finalized, Halperin said.
