The owners of Worcester’s newest incoming minor league sports team are soliciting community input to help name them, the American Basketball Association team’s president and general manager announced on Tuesday.
Potential names for the team, which is owned by Beast ‘Em Basketball Training Academy of Framingham, a nonprofit co-founded by student basketball coach A.J. “Beast” Stephens and La' Toya Bentick, will be open for voting until Jan. 13. From there, according to Stephens, two finalists will be selected for a runoff vote between Jan. 14 and Jan. 17. The official team name will be announced on Jan. 18.

Each possible name evokes a reference to Worcester history, landmarks, notable residents and or their inventions. Voting will take place online at www.beastembasketball.com.
The team will begin playing in November.
