Anna Maria College of Paxton has added Alfred A. Lagan and Edith M LaVigne to its board of trustees.

Lagan is the founder and chairman of Congress Asset Management Co. in Boston. He previously served for four years in the U.S. Navy.

Lagan is a member of the Boston Economics Club, the Boston Society of Security Analysts and the Development Leadership Council of the Catholic Near East Welfare Association. He served on Anna Maria’s board of trustees from 2003 to 2006.

Lagan has a bachelor’s degree from Iona College and an MBA from New York University and lives in Natick. He and his wife Joan Lagan have eight children and 19 grandchildren.

LaVigne is a volunteer with organizations including the Cape Cod Healthcare Organization, the Jupiter Elementary School in Jupiter, Fla., and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Worcester. She has a bachelor’s degree from Anna Maria and served as a trustee of the college from 2001 to 2007.

She and her husband Thomas P. LaVigne have four children and seven granddaughters.
