Worcester-based UMass Memorial Medical Center recently announced six new hires on its medical staff.
Dr. Jean A. Frazier has been appointed vice chair of child and adolescent psychiatry for both the Medical Center and UMass Medical School. A graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, she previously directed pediatric mental health programs at Harvard medical School and Cambridge Health Alliance.
Dr. David Carlson of Worcester joined the primary care team at UMass Memorial's Children's Medical Center, and will see both adult and child patients in Westborough. He is a graduate of UMass Medical School and completed his residency at UMass Medical School/UMass Memorial where he served as chief resident in pediatrics.
Dr. Maninder Paul Bains is a new pulmonologist at UMass Memorial Medical Center. He is a graduate of Jagiellonian University Medical College in Poland. He completed a residency at University of Nevada School of Medicine as well as fellowships in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine.
Dr. Aparna Shah joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UMass Memorial Medical Center. She is a urogynecology specialist and a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine. She completed her residence at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital and completed fellowship training in pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lakshmi Babu and Dr. Katherine Riggert have joined the medical center as family medicine physicians. Babu received her medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in India and completed a family medicine residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center/University of Massachusetts Medical School. She practices at Hahnemann Family Health Center in Worcester. Riggert is a graduate of University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Middlesex Hospital/University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She also completed a sports medicine fellowship at UMass Memorial Medical Center/University of Massachusetts Medical School. She practices at the Community Health Connections Family Health Center in Fitchburg.
