A new report offers more encouraging signs for the housing market in Massachusetts and throughout New England.
Re/Max of New England said home sales throughout the region rose 14.4 percent between March and April. But even more encouraging, according to Re/Max’s survey, was a 37.2-percent month-to-month jump in pending sales throughout New England.
That figure was higher in Massachusetts, at 48 percent.
Compared with April 2013, pending sales across New England rose 15.4 percent, although sales dropped by 5 percent in Massachusetts and 2.1 percent in the Worcester area.
However, the median sale price of a single-family home rose 5 percent in Massachusetts over the year. In the Worcester area, it rose 2.1 percent to $161,250.
