New orders for goods manufactured in the United States increased by $2.1 billion to $360.5 billion in October, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
New orders have increased in six of the last seven months. October’s 0.6 percent increase followed a 1.6 percent increase in September.
Shipments of those goods have increased in four of the last five months. In October, shipments increased by $3.1 billion, or 0.8 percent to $368 billion.
