The Worcester-based law firm of Bowditch & Dewey LLP has named its college and university roundtable seminar series after JAMES E. WALLACE JR., who has been a partner at the firm for 39 years. Wallace has helped run the luncheon series, which keeps higher education officials abreast of relevant legal issues, since it began 14 years ago.
The Training Associates of Westborough has promoted HERB R. BLANCHARD to director of consulting services. Blanchard, who worked as the company’s key account manager for the last five years, will now lead the company’s corporate consulting business.
Grafton resident PETER G. DENNIS is now president of the newly formed PMD Sales Training & Consulting in Grafton. Previously, Dennis was a senior vice president of sales and business development at Veritude, a Boston-based Fidelity Investments company.
Worcester-based insurance litigation law firm Burns & Farrey has brought on two new attorneys as part of the firm’s continuing growth. The firm hired EMILY M. LACROIX, a member of the Worcester County Bar Association, to be part of the firm’s civil litigation practice. She will focus on general liability, liquor liability, the defense of auto claims, insurance litigation and construction litigation. Before joining the firm, LaCroix was a Massachusetts Superior Court law clerk. ERIK TOMBERG was hired to the same practice group and was also previously a state Superior Court law clerk.
Gardner-based nonprofit RCAP Solutions has named four new members to its board of directors. The new members are: LAURA M. DOWNS of Milford, Conn., president of Morrison Downs Associates and brings 18 years of experience in planning and management to the board. DIANA C. CASAVECCHIA of Worcester is the convention sales manager for Destination Worcester. She has 15 years of experience in hospitality management. SCOTT A. BARTLEY of West Roxbury is a genealogist for the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendents in Boston. He is a national speaker on genealogy. GEORGE D. JONES III of Concord is president of Seaman Paper Co. During his 19 years with the company, he helped start three wholly owned converting facilities and a 50-percent-owned facility employing 550 people.
Worcester resident ERIN BRADLEY recently received a “Wonder Women” award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massa-chusetts. Bradley, 28, is the local Girl Scout organization’s chief of staff. She previously served as director of operations with the Romney for President Campaign.
The Federation of Exchange Accommodators has appointed TIMOTHY G. HALLIGAN, president of Exchange Authority LLC in Leominster, as vice president for the Northeast Region. In his new position, Halligan will work to increase membership in the region, help members build their professional skills and keep them informed about state regulatory issues. Halligan has worked for Exchange Authority since 1999.
Senate Construction Corp. of Shirley has hired JON KARP to lead its new commercial properties services division. Karp will be a project manager, working with customers on projects between $5,000 and $200,000.
The Boston-based Massachusetts Community Development Finance Corp. has hired two new staffers from Central Massachusetts. ANN M. DUFFY of Wakefield is CDFC’s new credit officer, providing support to the group’s loan officers. CHRISTOPHER COFFEY of Medway also recently joined CDFC as a loan officer covering the area south of Boston and Cape Cod.
Worcester State College has appointed ELAINE TATERONIS, chair of the education department, as interim dean of education. The college is working with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on accreditation of its education department, and accrediting agencies recommend that an administrative department head or dean be in place.
ROBERT FRANCE, president of Senate Construction in Shirley, has been named to the advisory committee of a Nebraska construction company. The Builder Advisory Council of Chief’s Buildings, a division of Chief Industries Inc. of Grand Island, Neb., consists of 13 members from across the country.
Worcester-based UMass Memorial Medical Center recently announced six new hires on its medical staff: Dr. DAVID CARLSON has joined the primary care team at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center; Dr. JEAN A. FRAZIER has been appointed vice chair of child and adolescent psychiatry for both the Medical Center and UMass Medical School; Dr. MANINDER PAUL BAINS is a new pulmonologist at UMass Memorial Medical Center; Dr. APARNA SHAH joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UMass Memorial Medical Center; Dr. LAKSHMI BABU and Dr. KATHERINE RIGGERT have joined the medical center as family medicine physicians.
