Fidelity Bank of Leominster has named John F. Merrill president, chief financial designer and chief lending officer, taking over some duties from Edward F. Manzi Jr., who recently changed his title from president and CEO to chairman and CEO.
Merrill has worked in banking for 28 years, including stints as regional president for both Sovereign and Fleet banks.

Manzi said in a statement that Merrill will help the bank expand its business into the Worcester area small- and mid-size business market.
Merrill’s responsibilities include managing consumer, mortgage and commercial lending.
