Devens-based American Superconductor Corp. said it has expanded its involvement with the Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute and has taken a new order for high temperature superconductor wire.
The institute will use the wire to construct a 30-meter-long, 35 kilovolt cable system. AMSC will also provide consulting services to the institute as part of the expanded relationship.
The institute does research, development and standardization work for China’s wire and cable industry and has been a business partner with AMSC since 2006. AMSC is the institute’s preferred supplier of high temperature superconductor wire.
