Nichols College has chosen John H. McClutchy Jr. as the new chairman of its board of trustees and added Thomas J. Hall as a new trustee.
McClutchy is founder and managing member of The JHM Group of companies. He has been involved in residential and commercial real estate development for the past 30 years. He has also worked as executive vice president of the Related Cos. and Union Bank in California.
He received his bachelor's degree from Nichols in 1972. He lives in Darien, Conn. with his wife, Janet. They have two children, Kelly and Todd.
McClutchy succeeds Robert J. Vaudreuil, president and CEO of The Protector Group Insurance Agency Inc., who served as chairman of the board from 2005 to 2009.
Hall is managing director and branch manager of Wachovia Securities, which was recently acquired by Wells Fargo Advisors. He previously held management positions with Advest, First Albany Cos. and First Union Securities. He graduated from Nichols in 1969. He lives in West Hartford, Conn. With his wife, Denise and two children, Lindsey and T.J.
