Steve Rothschild, who a decade ago founded the online replacement light bulb distributor Bulbs.com in Worcester, has left the company he founded.
Rothschild bowed out as of Feb. 10, according to a recorded telephone message at the company's headquarters on Jackson Street. Michael E. Connors, formerly Bulbs.com's vice president for sales and marketing, has taken over as CEO, the company said in a statement issued this afternoon.
Connors has held the vice president position since 2002. He joined the venture-backed company shortly after it was founded by Rothschild in 1999. Prior to joining Bulbs.com, Connors held executive sales and marketing positions at Boston Retail Products in Medford and Avery Dennison, an office products company.
Neither Rothschild nor Connors could be reached for comment this afternoon.
Bulbs.com has been a mainstay of the WBJ's Top Growth List of the region's fastest-growing private companies. Check out previous WBJ stories on the company here.
