Marlborough-based BRIDGE Energy Group, a provider of smart grid IT services and software to the utility industry, announced the appointment of David E. Olsson as CEO.
Olsson, who will start work immediately, has held executive positions with Verizon, Comverse Technology, Darwin Partners, Anchor Point and others. He was also a founding fellow of the New England Clean Energy council and a founding board member of what is now the Mass Technology Leadership Council.
Olsson replaces former CEO Tony Giroti. A spokeswoman for the company said in an email this morning that she could not disclose why Giroti was leaving the company, but said Olsson’s appointment was “in the best interest of the company and based on what is needed to ensure BRIDGE remains successful during this pivotal time of growth.”
