A Las Vegas-based cannabis firm will partner with two Massachusetts-based companies, including one in Leicester, and looks to enter the state’s rapidly expanding market.
Cannabis Life Sciences, a grower and retailer based in Nevada, has agreed to partner with CannAssist, a proposed cultivation facility currently seeking state and local licenses for a facility in Leicester.
CLS will own 80 percent of CannAssist, which has its host community agreement with the town and is currently awaiting word from the state’s Cannabis Control Commission on its license to operate a 86,000-square-foot facility.
Upon completion, the facility at 88 Huntoon Memorial Highway would be the third largest in the state. Plants are expected to be harvested in the fourth quarter of 2019.
CLS also agreed to loan $5 million to In Good Health, a medical marijuana dispensary in Brockton. CLS will also have the option to acquire the company, which opened the state’s second licensed dispensary in 2015.
