By 2050, international electricity and gas company National Grid will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent, the company said today.
The target represents an increase from the 60 percent reduction that company, based in London and Westborough, previously promised.
National Grid also announced plans for new carbon budgets. The budgets will allow the company to calculate a “shadow price” of carbon and incorporate emissions costs into network construction, fleet and facilities management and other business decisions.
