National Grid Names New COO

National Grid has named John J. Donleavy as its new COO and executive vice president, according to a statement by the company.
Donleavy will oversee all aspects of National Grid's U.S. operations, according to the company, including service to three-million electric and three-million natural gas customers in Massachusetts.
Donleavy was formerly president of Lafayette Power Consulting in Florida, and president of Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO), where he was credited with transforming business processes and leading the largest capital infrastructure program in the company's history.
