Westboro-based National Grid has made a $2 million donation to the United Way on behalf of the company and its employees.
The $2 million mark was reached through donations from the 3,400 employees of National Grid in New England and upstate New York, and a dollar-for-dollar match from the company.
This year’s total surpasses the amount raised by National Grid employees in 2005, which came in just under $1 million.
National Grid serves nearly 4 million customers throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island.
