StrattComm has been named Massachusetts’ Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
StratComm Strategic Communications has grown out of its 1978 origins as a traditional book publishing company and evolved to manage projects and develop content for 13 federal agencies, the Armed Forces, and Fortune 500 companies. The company’s clients include IBM, Goldman Sachs, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the United States Navy and Air Force, and the U.S. Departments of State, Education, Veterans Affairs, Treasury, and Agriculture, according to the SBA. The company's services include complex programs and logistics, create cutting-edge websites and mobile apps, and create and manage high quality, professional content.
Founder and president Robert George has been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the Massachusetts' small business owner of the year.
The company first achieved national acclaim when it produced The Vietnam Experience, the landmark historical account of the Vietnam War, published by Time-Life Books. The 25-volume series, inspired by Mr. George’s service in Vietnam, was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and to this day is the best-selling book series of all time.
George’s passion for history and world affairs has led StratComm to pursue assignments in developing countries around the world for agencies such as the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), according to a release from the SBA. StratComm has successfully executed two prime contracts for USAID in Indonesia and Tanzania to deliver millions of educational books to school-age children.
George will be honored in Washington, D.C. on May 1-2 at a special ceremony as part of National Small Business Week.
