Allurion Technologies, an early stage medical device firm based in Natick, is expanding its weight-loss program powered by artificial intelligence to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The program expansion is a partnership with healthcare technology firm Medtronic, which has an office in Littleton, and combines the use of Allurion’s swallowable, non-surgical gastric balloon with its Virtual Care Suite, a remote system using AI technology to monitor patients. The partnership with Dublin-based Medtronic will make the balloon and accompanying technology available more broadly, according to a Thursday press release from Allurion.
In a 12-month pilot, Allurion will utilize Medtronic’s technology to accelerate the capabilities of its AI-platform. Medtronic will act as distributor in the new markets.
In February, Allurion announced its plan to go public in a deal with Delaware-based Compute Health Acquisition Corp. Allurion is scaling up quickly, recording revenue growth from $20 million in 2020 to $64 million in 2022.
