Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) has again been recognized by Victory Media as a top military-friendly school for veterans, active military members and their dependents.
The 2016 Military Friendly Schools list, released Thursday by Victory Media, is in its seventh year, and MWCC has been named to the list each year. The list features American colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace military students and ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
In a statement Thursday, MWCC President Daniel M. Asquino said the school is proud of the recognifition. “It is our responsibility to foster an environment in which student veterans can thrive as they transition to college life,” he said. “Their presence and active participation in our classrooms and on our campuses enriches the entire college community.”
A designated Yellow Ribbon School with a long history of supporting veterans, Mount Wachusett provides services through the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success and the Veterans Group student club, an affiliate of the Student Veterans of America, the school said.
