Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray will be in Framingham this afternoon to announce a new partnership between the state Department of Veterans Services and Mass 2-1-1.
Mass 2-1-1, headquartered in Framingham, is a partnership between the United Way System and the state that helps people find local services. Gov. Deval Patrick has declared that today, Feb. 11, 2011, is Mass 2-1-1 Day, and Murray will also read a proclamation of the day at the 2:30 p.m. event.
Through Mass 2-1-1, state residents can dial 211 on their phones to get information about social services including food, clothing, counseling and legal support. The new partnership with Veterans Services will add new services for veterans to the 2-1-1 database.
