Somerville-based Gentle Giant Moving Co., which has three offices in the MetroWest area, has acquired Allston Piano Moving Company of Belmont.
Gentle Giant has locations along the Eastern seaboard, including in Acton, Franklin and Marlborough, and in San Francisco and Seattle.
The deal allows Gentle Giant to pick up Allston’s proprietary moving methods, and the company’s former owner, Bob Franklin, now works for Gentle Giant, heading up the services that Allston provided.
