KAREN LINABURY was promoted to hospice director at GVNA HealthCare Inc. of Lunenburg. She has worked for GVNA in homecare and hospice roles, including as special projects coordinator, for 15 years. During that time, she also oversaw the company's home assisted-living program. Linabury holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, and worked in Connecticut for four years before joining GVNA.
PAULA GREEN has been hired as vice president for advancement at The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center, with sites in Worcester, Framingham and Milford. She was most recently vice president for marketing and college relations at Anna Maria College. She holds degrees from Emmanuel College and Clark University, and is a doctoral candidate at Northeastern University. She serves as vice chair of the Association Board at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
BRENDA BUJNEVICIE was hired as senior vice president of lending with IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg. She was most recently vice president of operations and compliance at Leominster Credit Union for two years, and before that, vice president of lending at GFA Federal Credit Union for four years. Bujnevicie lives in Ashburnham.
JOSH LAPAN was promoted to partner at Worcester-based Shepherd & Goldstein LLC. He joined the law firm as a junior accountant in 1997. He was most recently a principal, acting as a liaison between clients, partners and the accounting team. Lapan deals primarily with general business consulting and compliance services in audit and tax, with a focus on the manufacturing and restaurant industries. He lives in Worcester.
CHAD RIVARD was hired by Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates of Worcester as a commercial finance advisor. He previously worked for Bank of America and Santander.
CRAIG ABLONDI, CHAD BERGERON, JOHN DUFFY, BOB GRZYB, RICK ROBINSON, SARAH START, APRIL STEWARD and STEVE VIEGAS were all hired by Cutler Associates, a design and construction firm in Worcester. Ablondi will serve as a superintendent; Bergeron as an estimator; Duffy as a project manager; Grzyb as a senior project manager; Robinson as a design project coordinator; Start as an accounting intern; Steward as a construction and estimating administrative assistant; and Viegas as a superintendent. Meanwhile, TIFFANY GALLO, an employee of the firm for eight years, was promoted into a business development role.
BETSY ABELES KRAVITZ, KATHIE D'ANIELLO and MONIQUE VISNAW were hired by Milford-Worcester home care and medical staffing firm BrightStar Care. Kravitz, who most recently owned a sales and marketing consulting firm, BizBuz Marketing, is also the former publisher of New England Home magazine. She is BrightStar's new director of business development. Kravitz is a native of Worcester. D'Aniello, a Hopedale resident, was hired as a customer care manager. She is a former medical assistant. Visnaw was also hired as a customer care manager. She has a background in accounting and office management and lives in Marlborough.
ALLAN VILLATORO was hired as an assistant vice president and business lending and development officer at Grafton Suburban Credit Union, a newly created position. He began his new role Feb. 24. Villatoro most recently worked at UniBank in Milford. He is a resident of Grafton.
DR. MICHELE TANTILLO SINOPOLI was hired by Reliant Medical Group in Worcester, into its department of obstetrics and gynecology. She will practice at the Reliant site in Leominster. Dr. Sinopoli, who is board certified, earned her medical degree from Boston University. She completed her residency at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester in 2007.
ANA BOTTARY and COLLEEN BAMFORD were hired as general assignment news reporters at Charter TV3's Worcester News Tonight. Bottary most recently served as a general assignment reporter at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, Maine. She's a graduate of Curry College in Milton. Bamford returns to Charter TV3 after serving in the communications office for the City of Worcester. She is a graduate of Assumption College.
BRIAN CAREY was hired by The Davis Cos., a staffing firm based in Marlborough, as IT division director. He previously worked at JobSpring Partners, a Boston IT recruiting firm, as divisional sales manager. In his new role, he will oversee hiring and training of the company's IT team.
STEVEN J. SOUSA was promoted by MutualOne Bank to commercial relationship executive, a newly created position. He joined the bank in 2009 as a teller, and served as a personal banker and certified business banker. Sousa holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.
MARGARET FREIJE was hired as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. She has been serving as interim vice president and dean since last July, when Timothy Austin stepped down from the role. Freije previously served as associate dean from 2004 to 2013; associate dean for curriculum management from 2003 to 2004; and as a class dean from 1995 to 2003. She is a faculty member in the department of mathematics. Freije earned a bachelor's degree at Boston College and a Ph.D. at Brown University, both in mathematics. She is a resident of Worcester.
TERRY PERLMUTTER was hired by Barrett Sotheby's International Realty of Concord. She previously worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker in Weston. She will work in the firm's Lincoln office on Lincoln Road.
RONALD APLIN was hired by Holliston-based Harvard Bioscience to the newly created position of vice president of global operations and quality. He previously worked for Corning Inc., as operations and plant manager, and previously as director of operations at Becton, Dickinson and Co. Aplin earlier served as plant manager at Teleflex Medical. He holds a bachelor's degree for the University of South Alabama and a master's in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.
