LAURA HABACKER, the head women's basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Elms College in Chicopee, was hired as athletic director at Anna Maria College. She'll begin her new role July 1. Habacker has served as head women's basketball coach at Elms since 2002 and as assistant director of athletics since 2006. She also served as interim director of athletics. Prior to her tenure at Elms, she was head women's basketball and volleyball coach for five years at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. She's a graduate of Clark University.
SHERRI PITCHER and KAREN PELLETIER were hired by the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. Pitcher, of Worcester, will serve as director of business recruitment. She previously worked for DayMen photo marketing. She's a graduate of Fairfield University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in communications. Pelletier, also of Worcester, is the chamber's new director of higher education-business partnerships. She most recently worked for the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, where she was director of student affairs, and has also served as associate director of student activities for Assumption College.
DREW HIRTLE and SARAH HUBER are the new owners of Villari's Martial Arts Center in Westborough, where both earned black belts. Hirtle, a 6th-degree black belt, will serve as director. Huber, a 5th-degree black belt, was previously the school's chief instructor. She has been involved with the school for more than 16 years.
MIKE TSOTSIS, DR. ERIC DICKSON and DR. ABRAHAM HADDAD will lead this year's United Way of Central Massachusetts campaign. Dickson is president and CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care and a professor of emergency medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Tsotsis is president and CEO of Benefit Development Group of Worcester, which he founded in 1976. He's a graduate of Assumption College and serves on its board of trustees. Haddad is an associate at Handsman & Haddad Periodontics in Worcester, an assistant clinical professor at UMass Medical School and a visiting professor at Quinsigamond Community College.
AMY LIPTON has been named a member of The Boston Club, a professional organization for women executives. She is senior vice president of marketing for Marlborough-based data security firm Sepaton Inc.
FRANK BILFULCO was named executive vice president of marketing, a newly created role at office supply company Staples Inc. of Framingham. He was previously chief marketing officer for Home Depot, and has also held management positions at Coca-Cola and Timberland. He's a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and holds masters' degrees from Cornell University and Central Michigan University.
MICHAEL R. DeMARCO was hired as assistant vice president of commercial lending for Workers' Credit Union of Fitchburg. He was previously employed by Randolph Savings Bank in Stoughton. DeMarco, of Natick, earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Westfield State University.
PETER DIGNAN was appointed to the board of directors of Millbury Federal Credit Union. Prior to his retirement, he was senior vice president of marketing and premium accounting for Commerce Insurance, based in Webster.
SCOTT FISHER, CLAIRE A. RISI, NEIL GORDON and LISA A. ARCANGELI were hired by Fidelity Bank. Fisher is branch and business development manager and vice president in the Fitchburg office. He was previously a branch sales manager with Santander Bank. Risi was named to the same position in Worcester. A Leominster resident, she was formerly a vice president and market manager with People's United Bank. Gordon is chief financial and risk officer in the Leominster office. The Littleton resident previously worked as senior vice president of finance with Bank of America in Boston. He holds a bachelor's degree from Boston University and an MBA from Suffolk University. Arcangeli, of Hopkinton, is the new vice president and home loan specialist in the Worcester branch. She's returning to the bank where she had previously worked in the Leominster office.
GEORGE GOULAS was hired as a financial advisor with Millbury-based Girard Financial Group. Goulas, of Oxford, previously worked for New England Financial/Bay State Financial in Worcester.
MARIA SALVATORE was promoted to senior vice president and director of human resources at Commerce Bank in Worcester. She joined the bank last year as vice president and HR director. Salvatore holds a bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College and a master's from Northeastern University in human resources counseling.
JESSICA NICKERSON was hired as a member of the culinary team at The Overlook Life Care Community in Charlton. She formerly worked for Boston-based Unidine Corp. as a sous chef, and as a line cook at Pub 99 Restaurant in Foxborough, Wegman's in Northborough, as well as Applebee's and Ronnie's Seafood, both in Auburn.
CINDI GIUGLIANO CASCIO was hired by Maugel Architects of Harvard. She's a graduate of Wellesley College and holds a master's degree in architecture from Harvard. Prior to joining Maugel, she held positions with Boston firms such as Finegold Alexander + Associates Inc. and Leers Weinzapfel Associates.
GREGORY M. SHORT was hired as a client relationship manager for Worcester-based certified public accounting firm Shepherd & Goldstein LLP, to work in the Framingham location. He was previously employed as a senior account manager with Robert Half Inc. He's also founder of Gregory M. Short Accounting Services. The Marlborough resident is a graduate of Assumption College.
ALAN KARP was hired by Universal Window and Door of Marlborough as a materials manager. The Milford resident previously served in similar roles with E.R. Lewin, American Window Products and North American Manufacturing.
SHAUNA DiCECCA was hired by JM Coull Inc., a Maynard construction firm, as office administrator. She has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Assumption College.
(Correction from June 9 issue) JACK CUTONE was named to the executive committee of Quinsigamond Community College Foundation in Worcester. He will serve as co-chair of the foundation's new business development committee. Cutone is managing partner of 1031 Exchange, United Asset Trading Co. He has been an adjunct economics Instructor at QCC since 2004. Cutone, a Marlborough resident, earned a bachelor's degree from Worcester State University in economics and business administration, and an MBA from Anna Maria College.
