RICHARD PEARCE was hired by Westborough-based ExaGrid Systems Inc., a disk-based backup solutions firm. He will fill the newly created position of vice president of business development. Pearce previously worked at Hitachi Data Systems as vice president of business development. Prior to that, Pearce was vice president of business development and alliances at BlueArc, which was acquired by Hitachi Data Systems. He earned a Ph.D. in data networking from the University of Durham in the U.K.
PAUL BRANNELLY was hired by Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc., a Natick nuclear transport modulator company, as senior vice president of finance and administration. Prior to joining Karyopharm, Brannelly served as vice president of finance at Verastem Inc., where he led the biopharmaceutical through the initial public offering process. Earlier, he served as vice president of finance and principal financial officer at Sirtris Pharmaceuticals Inc. Brannelly holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
DR. ANDREI KOUZNETSOV was hired by Reliant Medical Group in Worcester, to work at Saint Vincent Hospital. He formerly practiced at Emerson Hospital in Concord. Dr. Kouznetsov received his medical degree from Moscow Medical Academy in Moscow. He then completed his internship at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn., his residency at Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton and his fellowship in nephrology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
NICOLE BLAIS was promoted by Gardner-based GFA Federal Credit Union to assistant branch manager for the Rindge, N.H., branch. Blais joined GFA in 1998. Her previous positions have included teller, teller supervisor and financial services specialist.
DR. TAMARA L. PASCOE was named medical director of the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center's Tacoma Street facility. She earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training and a master's in exercise and sports studies at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. Dr. Pascoe served as associate head athletic trainer at the Boise State University Athletic Department from 1991 to 2003. In 2007, she earned a medical degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and entered into a family medicine residency program in Boise. She is a resident of Paxton.
RODNEY DENMAN was hired by Senior Living Residences in Milford as director of community relations for the company's newest senior living community, Cornerstone at Milford. He is a graduate of Nichols College in Dudley. Cornerstone is slated to open this winter.
ROBERT BARNHARD was hired and JOHN McKENNA promoted by Commerce Bank in Worcester. Barnhard joined the bank as senior vice president and director of corporate lending in the main office. He formerly served as managing director and group head at LaSalle Business Credit. Barnhard is a graduate of Ohio State University. McKenna has been named senior vice president and director of credit administration and workout. He joined the bank in 2007 as a senior vice president and director of commercial lending.
WILLIAM E AUBUCHON IV was named president and IOURI ALSOV, NATHANIEL GOVE and LOUIS FRANCO were appointed members to the board of trustees at Applewild School of Fitchburg. Aubuchon, an alumnus, has served on the board since 2006. He is vice president of sales for the W.E. Aubuchon Co. in Westminster. He graduated from Williams College in Williamstown and earned an MBA from Babson College in Wellesley. Alsov is president of Stable Arts in Princeton. He holds degrees in economics from Sankt-Petersburg University in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Gove works in auction appraisal, estate settlements and consulting. He graduated from American International College in Springfield. Franco is principal at the intellectual property law practice he founded in 1994. He graduated from Fordham University, Bronx, N.Y., and earned his law degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis.
LYNETTE PACZKOWSKI, HEATHER C. ARNDT, JAYNE ARMINGTON, JESSICA SABOURIN, MEGHANN KINNARD, LORI CROWLEY and SARAH ALVES were named to the board of the Worcester Young Professional Women's Association. Paczkowski, president, is a trial attorney at Bowditch & Dewey in Worcester. Arndt, vice president, is a certified financial planner at Merrill Lynch in Worcester. Armington, treasurer, is a member of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission in Springfield. Sabourin, secretary, is manager of student accounts at Anna Maria College in Paxton. Kinnard, public relations chair, is marketing and public relations director at EVO Dining and Living Earth in Worcester. Crowley, membership committee chair, is an underwriting consultant at Unum in Worcester. Community Outreach Committee Chair Sarah Alves is assistant project manager with Consigli Construction in Milford.
MARY RITTER, CRAIG BOVAIRD, JILL DAGILIS, ROBERT J. MORTON, SATYA MITRA and MARC PISA were named to the board of Worcester State Foundation. Ritter, board president, is president and CEO of Fallon Total Care. Bovaird, a vice president, is president and CEO of Built-Rite Tool & Die/Reliance Engineering of Lancaster. Dagilis, also a vice president, is executive director of Worcester Community Action Council. Morton, a director, is executive vice president and senior loan officer at Millbury Savings Bank. Mitra, a director, is president and owner of The Guru Tax and Financial Services Inc. Pisa, a director, is a mortgage loan officer at Bank of America Home Loans.
