DR. GENNADY GELMAN was hired by Harrington Physician Services in Webster. He specializes in family medicine and is fluent in Russian. Dr. Gelman has a medical degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel. He completed his residency at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, N.J.

DAVID H. SMALL was hired as tourism coordinator for the North Quabbin Visitors Bureau, a newly formed group for the nine-town region. Now retired, he had a 37-year career with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, retiring as assistant director of the Quabbin Reservoir. A resident of Athol, he has served on community task forces focusing on economic development and tourism. Small is chairman of the Athol Board of Planning and Community Development.

KAREN LAGANELLI was hired as executive director of Family Services of Central Massachusetts, in Worcester. She replaces Stephen Pitcher, who served as the nonprofit's interim executive director since January. Laganelli most recently served as executive director of Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester, a position she held since 1995. She has a master's degree in health administration from Clark University/UMass Medical Center, and is a resident of Holden.

TODD W. SIBLEY, CASSANDRA L. STODDARD and STEVEN E. TURBIDE have been hired by Workers' Credit Union in Fitchburg. Sibley, a collections manager, previously worked at Leominster Credit Union as an assistant vice president. Stoddard has been named a financial analyst. Before joining Workers, she was a finance assistant for Graphisoft North America. Turbide was named mortgage originator for the Acton branch. He formerly worked as a loan officer for IC Federal Credit Union, based in Fitchburg.

PAUL PREWITT-FREILINO was promoted to associate vice president for academic planning and institutional effectiveness at Becker College in Worcester. He was formerly the college's director of institutional research. Prewitt-Freilino has held positions as director of enrollment at Curry College in Milton; institutional research analyst at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.; and several positions at the University of Oklahoma. He earned a bachelor's degree from Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., and a master's and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

JEANNETTE ROBICHAUD and DONATA MARTIN were elected as new ex-officio directors of the United Way of North Central Mass. in Fitchburg. Robichaud is with the Athol Area YMCA and Martin represents the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg & Leominster. Re-elected to a one-year term was ROBERT CHAUVIN of SimplexGrinnell of Westminster. Re-elected to three-year terms, expiring in 2016, were: DAVE BAER, SimplexGrinnell; JOHN DiNAPOLI of Unitil; SUZANNE FARIAS, Doubletree by Hilton in Leominster; and DOUG PETERSEN, Workers' Credit Union, Fitchburg. ROBERT V. ANTONUCCI of Fitchburg State University was elected chair for a one-year term ending in 2014. Also elected were: DOUG PETERSEN, Workers' Credit Union, vice chair; KEITH BOISSONEAU, Sterilite Corp. of Townsend, treasurer; DANIEL M. ASQUINO, Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, assistant treasurer; JUSTIN GELINAS, Gelinas and Ward of Leominster, clerk; MATT W. JOHNSON, Fitchburg, community investment chair; PHIL RICHARDS, IC Federal Credit Union of Fitchburg, campaign chair; JIM JAVARAS, BHR Life Cos. of Leominster, Alexis de Tocqueville Society chair; and PHILIP M. GRZEWINSKI, United Way of North Central Massachusetts, president.

DR. RICHARD LISTERUD was hired by Harrington Behavior Health Services in Southbridge as director of recovery services. He will provide services at both the Southbridge and Dudley offices. Dr. Listerud previously worked in the psychiatry department of UMass Medical Center. He earned his medical degree at UMass Medical School in Worcester, where he completed his residency. He completed his internship at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

TOM PHINNEY was hired as a staff recruiter for Ross Mortgage Co. in Westborough. He previously worked at Arthur Blair Associates in Boston as a mortgage banking recruiter.

DAVID GOLDEN was appointed chair of the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce, where he will help increase chamber membership. He is branch manager of the North Brookfield Savings Bank in Palmer and has been with the bank for nearly five years.
