Movers & Shakers from the September 14, 2009 Issue

JEFFREY CUBBERLEY was named a branch manager at Webster First Federal Credit Union in Whitinsville. He was previously a branch manager at Sovereign Bank in Grafton. He attended both the University of Delaware and Villanova University. SHOBA VAIDYANATH has been named assistant branch manager of the Whitinsville location. Vaidyanath also most recently worked at Sovereign Bank.

HILDA MIRANDA has been promoted to territory manager for the New England region of My Good Dog, a North Brookfield manufacturer of toys for dogs. Miranda will work with New England retailers to provide up-to-date information on its products, promotions and programs from My Good Dog. Previously, Miranda worked as My Good Dog’s customer service representative.

Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association announced that KIMBERLY ROYER was promoted to operations officer and KRISTEN MOORE was promoted to operations manager. Royer will manage the operations department and serve as IRA and pension plan administrator for customer accounts. Moore will direct and manage clerical personnel, activities in the operations department, customer relations and inquiries, and she will serve as a member of the corporate compliance committee.

The University of Massachusetts announced that it has named KEN UDAS to be the CEO of its online learning consortium, UMassOnline, which is based in Shrewsbury. Most recently, Udas served as the executive director of Penn State World Campus. Udas graduated from Texas A&M University with a master’s of science in management information systems, and earned his doctor of philosophy in higher education administration.

Framingham-based Staples Inc. announced that MIKE MILES, president and chief operating officer, will take over the responsibilities of Staples International from Peter Ventress, who is leaving the company to accept a position as CEO of a UK-based public company. Miles joined Staples in 2003 as COO and was promoted to president and COO in 2006.

Three executives at Maynard-based J.M. Coull Inc. have earned LEED certification. ANDREW COULL, president, THOMAS DUBE, vice president for preconstruction, and THOMAS ZABEL, senior business development executive, earned the certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) named 13 staff members at Worcester-based Cutler Associates LEED accredited professionals. The newly named members are: J. ROBERT TAYLOR, vice president of planning and design; GARTH JOHNSON, principal and director of senior living; KEVIN KOZAK, design project manager; MICHAEL WORTHLEY, design project manager; KATHLEEN PROVENCHER, project architect; JACK MORAN, director of building information modeling; DIRK HELLER, preconstruction services manager; MATTHEW BENOLKIN, estimator; TIFFANY GALLO, estimator; MARK STAFFIERI, senior project manager; TOBY MANULAK, project manager, JOSHUA BRANDT, project manager and MARIAN JAKUBIK, superintendent.

Three new members were elected to the Southborough-based Massachusetts Restaurant Association board of directors: SEBASTIAN SNOW of Natick, DANIEL NEWCOMB of Marshfield and WIOLETTA ZYWINA of Boston. They will join the 41-person board for a term of three years.

CAROL B. DONNELLY was named interim director of the Worcester Center for Crafts. Donnelly has served on the center’s board for the past 12 years and she was president of the board in 2005-2006.

Assumption College in Worcester has named JARON RIDER the director of recreation. Previously, Rider was director and assistant director of recreation and wellness programs at Winthrop University in South Carolina and Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

JACQUES WEHBE has been named director of physician services as Saint Vincent Hospital. In his new role, Wehbe will be charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the employed physicians affiliated with Saint Vincent.

MICHAEL J. QUINK was hired as senior vice president and senior business banking officer at Leominster-based Fidelity Bank. Quink was previously senior vice president and division manager for Medway-based Strata Bank, where he managed the commercial banking division.

Conservation Services Group (CSG), an energy services firm in Westborough, announced that SAMUEL J. NUTTER was appointed as New England business development director. Most recently, Nutter served as senior project manager for the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust.
