Movers & Shakers from the September 1, 2009 Issue

KEVIN S. CROSS was recently named the U.S. manager for ophthalmic sales and marketing for Leybold Optics USA. Cross has more than 15 years of experience in sales and marketing, more than six of which have been in the optical industry. He is a resident of Worcester.

MARK P. BILOTTA, CEO of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, has been elected vice-chair of the Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority. Bilotta was appointed to the HEFA board in 2008 by Gov. Deval Patrick.

Gov. Deval Patrick nominated JOHN A. DELUCA as clerk magistrate of the Framingham District Court. DeLuca has served for 31 years at the Framingham court. He began his career as an assistant clerk magistrate in 1978. He was promoted to first assistant clerk in charge of jury trials in 1999.

Whitinsville-based UniBank announced several promotions and new additions to its board of corporators. The following individuals received promotions. Their new titles are listed: GARY A. IACOVELLI, senior vice president of commercial lending; JOHN V. LYONS, vice president; JOHN F. BYRNES, assistant vice president; and MARGARET V. POTTLE, assistant vice president of the bank’s mortgage department. The bank also announced the election of four new members to the board of corporators of its holding company, UFS Bancorp. The new corporators are: DENISE H. BROOKHOUSE, CFO of Koopman Lumber in Whitinsville; ANTHONY J. GUERRA, regional sales engineer for MOXA Americas; CHRISTINA M. MENARD, relationship manager for ING; JEFFREY A. SMITH, director for International Integrated Solutions LLC.

KAREN A. KOLLER, president and CEO of RCAP Solutions in Gardner, was awarded the Annual CEO Achievement Award by the New England Society of Association Executives, a regional trade association for association and nonprofit executives.

CAINE FINNERTY has joined Southborough-based Protonex Technology Corp. as director of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems development. He will be leading a development group in the company’s Broomfield, Colo., office. Finnerty was previously the chief technology officer of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Nanodynamics.

MICHAEL AUGUSTINE has been named the distribution manager of materials management at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, where he will oversee the materials distribution team, including central supply and receiving. PATRICIA ELLIS has been promoted to vice president of quality and safety at Saint Vincent. She will oversee the departments of risk management, quality management, infection prevention and will remain active in joint commission preparedness.

Worcester-based Fallon Community Health Plan appointed LINDA G. ST. JOHN as assistant vice president of human resources. She will be responsible for overseeing FCHP’s talent management, compensation, HR analytics, and learning and organizational development.

Parsons Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Worcester announced two new staff members. DEB DESIMONE joined the facility as staff development coordinator. PARTHENIA OPOKU-DUKU joined the facility’s social services department.

DEBORAH J. CARDUCCI, owner of Carducci Design Group Inc. of Worcester, was elected as the 2009-2010 president of the Boston chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Carducci has been involved with NAWBO-Boston for more than three years. She is also the founder of Villa Lusso luxury candles.

Charles River Bank announced a team of staff for its newly opened Bellingham office. MICHAEL TUITE, branch manager of the Bellingham office, joined Charles River Bank in 2006 as branch manager of the main office in Medway. NANCY SHERMAN, assistant branch manager of the Bellingham branch, has been with Charles River Bank for more than 10 years. Sherman was most recently the branch supervisor at the bank’s office in Medway High School. TARA CRIVELLO, head teller of the Bellingham branch, is experienced as a teller, customer service representative and teller supervisor. Joining her as tellers in the Bellingham office are SHAUNA ANZUONI, EMILY NISS, ASHLEY MILAN and ERIC CHAPIN.

JO-AN GLADSTONE, founder and president of Selectstaff of Framingham, has been re-elected to serve on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Staffing Association.

KENT DUR RUSSELL, CEO and curator of the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, has been elected to a three-year term on the Northampton-based Mass Humanities board of directors. Russell previously served as executive director of the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester.
