JENNIFER MAYNARD has been named the West Boylston branch manager for Clinton Savings Bank. She was previously assistant manager at Sovereign Bank in Leominster. She has a bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts College of the Liberal Arts.
ANNETTE M. HINES has been named an officer in the special needs and elder law practice group at the Worcester-based law firm of Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple. Hines founded both the Natick law firm Hines & Associates and Special Families-Special Care Inc., a nonprofit home-care company also located in Natick. She’s been the president of the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers and is involved in a number of legal associations and local nonprofits.
Digital Federal Credit Union’s charitable arm, DCU for Kids, has appointed JOHN P. LAHAIR to its board. LaHair has been the credit union’s public relations manager since 2008. Before that he worked for 10 years at the DCU Center in Worcester. LaHair also serves on the Rainbow Child Development Center Board of Directors. He lives in Worcester.
Sturbridge marketing and advertising agency Smith & Jones has hired BRIAN HARRIS as interactive manager and KATHY REAL as business developer. Interactive manager is a new position at the agency, and it gives Harris responsibility for helping clients plan and execute web, interactive and social media programs. Harris, a self-described “social media evangelist,” has worked for clients including MLB, 20th Century Fox and American Express. The part-time business developer position is also a new one for Smith & Jones. Real will seek out new clients for the firm.
The Training Associates of Westborough has hired NICHOLE HAYES as a recruiter. Hayes has done recruiting in the academic and staffing industries for more than five years, most recently as an enrollment counselor at the University of Phoenix in Westborough, where she recruited students for business-related graduate and undergraduate programs. Hayes lives in Worcester.
Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury has appointed MICHAEL GONDEK director of alumni relations. Gondek, a Saint John’s alumnus, taught in the school’s social studies department from 1994 to 1999. In 2003, he founded Strategic Labor Inc., a Worcester software company, where he remained as CEO until this year. He has a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College in Worcester and a master’s in contemporary East European history from Providence College.
TAMARA COLPACK was named director of catering at the Marriott Courtyard in Marlborough and Westborough. She previously ran the catering business at the Crowne Plaza in Worcester for 10 years. She has a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College and is a resident of Franklin, N.H.
Hometown Bank of Oxford, Webster and Sturbridge has named longtime employee KAREN YANCIK assistant vice president/compliance and risk management officer. Yancik has worked for the bank for 23 years, first as a teller and later as an internal auditor. In her new position she is responsible for making sure the bank complies with government and industry regulations and risk assessment. Yancik has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Nichols College in Dudley. She lives in Dudley with her husband and twin sons.
Savers Bank of Southbridge has named LYNNE ELLIS branch manager of its Auburn location. Ellis joined Savers last year. Before that, she was branch manager and assistant vice president at another local bank. In her new position, Ellis will be involved in local community activities in Auburn. Ellis lives in Charlton with her husband and daughter.
Longtime real estate agent and doggie daycare owner GINA MELNICK has joined ERA Key Realty Services of Whitinsville. Melnick made the move as part of a June merger between ERA Key Realty and the Upton firm Edward Henderson. Melnick has worked in real estate for 25 years, including time at Century 21 Millennium, Century 21 Henderson and Keller Williams. She has also been an office manager at High Acres Associates in Hopkinton and at JMJ Electric Co. Inc. in Upton. She is the owner of Wag ‘N Watch doggie daycare in Upton. Melnick has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She lives in Upton.
Framingham-based office supply giant Staples Inc. has named JOHN BARTON executive vice president of international development, ANDERS KRISTIANSEN president of Staples China and NOAH HERSCHMAN chief of merchandizing for Staples China. The executive vice president position is a new one for the company, and it gives Barton responsibility for Staples business in China, India and South America. He has worked for the company since 1990, most recently as executive vice president of real estate. Kristiansen will report to Barton and take responsibility for all day-to-day operations in Staples’ China business. He previously served as managing director of Lyreco’s Asia Pacific division.
