Clinton cereal company Weetabix North America has hired CHUCK GREEN, a food industry veteran with a background in ice cream, as vice president of sales. Green has worked in sales, marketing and operations for companies including Unilever Ice Cream North America and H.P. Hood Ice Cream. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Traders Point Creamery, an Indiana organic dairy.
After 24 years in various positions at Training Resources of America Inc. in Worcester, KIM HARMON has been promoted to president. Before the promotion, Harmon serviced as vice president of operations and compliance. She has also worked as field supervisor for the nonprofit’s supported work program, branch manager at the former Haverhill office, regional resource manager, Worcester training site manager and operations compliance director.
The Massachusetts Sleep Society, the Framingham-based sleep professionals organization, has named SANDRA HOROWITZ, the regional medical director for Sleep Health-Centers for the Central Massachusetts area, as president. Horowitz is also an instructor at Harvard University in the Department of Medicine and on staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Sleep Medicine.
The Massachusetts Association of Buyer Agents has appointed CONNIE LEDUC of Authentic Home Buyer Brokers in Southborough and RON BERQUIST of Authentic Home Finder in Shrewsbury to its board. The nonprofit association is made up of real estate agents and brokers who represent home buyers.
Four attorneys with Worcester County connections, JAMES T. VAN BUREN, MARGARET J. HURLEY, GEORGE M. THOMPSON JR. and JAMES C. DONNELLY JR., have been appointed as chairs for the Massachusetts Bar Association’s sections for the 2009-2010 year. Fitchburg solo practitioner Van Buren is serving as co-chair of the Access to Justice Section for the third year. Hurley, chief of the Attorney General’s Central Massa-chusetts Regional Office, is co-chair of the Public Law Section. Thompson, of Sager & Schaffer LLP in West-borough, is chair of the Business Law Section. Donnelly is co-chair of the Judicial Adminis-tration Section. He is a partner at Mirick, O’Connell, DeMallie & Lougee LLP in Worcester.
Senate Construction Corp. of Shirley has named JOHN F. DION director of business development. In his new position, Dion will develop construction projects for institutions, colleges, private schools and health care clients in New England. Dion has worked in the construction industry for 29 years, including time at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and at his own construction company.
AMANDA WILSON, manager of Commerce Bank’s Holden Branch, has been elected to the board of directors of CultureLEAP. Culture-LEAP, which stands for Learning through Education & Arts Part-nerships, connects Worcester Public School students with Worcester County cultural resources.
Fallon Clinic has hired JAMES SELTZER at its allergy department at Worcester Medical Center. Seltzer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency program at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and completed his fellowship program in allergy and immunology at the University of California, San Diego.
DONNA PHELPS was named a senior account executive at Commonwealth Creative Associates of Framingham. She was previously a property manager at Woodlands Condominium Community and also worked for CCA on a freelance basis.
The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester has hired JOHN E. WARE JR. as professor and chief of outcomes measurement science. Ware founded QualityMetric Inc. in 1997 and served as CEO, chairman of the board and chief science officer. The company creates survey instruments to measure health outcomes.
After eight years as president of Overlook Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Services in Charlton, WAYNE REGAN has a new job as senior vice president at Charleston-based Beacon Hospice Inc. In his new role, Regan handles business development and is overseeing the expansion of Beacon’s palliative care program and its private duty agency. Before joining Overlook, Regan was vice president of sales for SkilledNursing.com, national director of sales for Kindred Healthcare and regional director of sales and marketing for Neighborcare.
St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester has promoted JOAN DAVIS to director of quality management. Davis is a long-time employee of the hospital, with experience as a nurse and leader in medical surgical care and perinatal care services and as a case manager and quality manger.
