The College of the Holy Cross has named THOMAS M. LANDY director of its Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture. Landy has served as associate director of the center since it began in 2000 and became interim director last summer. As director, he will develop the center’s programming and develop projects designed to reach beyond the campus.

Worcester’s WICN public radio station has named recently retired Western Worcester District Court Judge CHARLES A. ABDELLA to its board of directors. Abdella practiced law in Worcester for 31 years and then served on the court starting in 1998.

JOHN M. MAZZONE, owner of J.M. Mazzone Licensed Electrician and Air Conditioning in Milford, has joined the Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association board of directors. Mazzone is a member and past director of the Upton Men’s Club and past president of the Milford Lions Club, as well as a member of the Nipmuc School Council.

ELIZABETH C. MALKO was named senior vice president and chief medical officer of Fallon Community Health Plan in Worcester. She is both an engineer and a doctor by training with degrees from RPI and the UConn School of Medicine.

SeraCare Life Sciences Inc. of Milford has appointed health care entrepreneur and investor HAROLD S. BLUE to its board. Blue is the managing partner of HealthEdge Investment Partners of Florida. Before founding HeathEdge in 2005, he was managing partner of private equity fund ComVest Investment Partners. He also founded and led ProxyMed Inc., which he took public in 1993 and Best Generics, which was sold to IVAX Corp. in 1988.

KAREN ARGETSINGER, a mediator and collaborative attorney, has joined the Zeytoonian Center for Dispute Resolution as of counsel. The center, based in Wellesley Hills and Westborough, offers alternatives to taking disputes to court. Argetsinger also practices at Hutchings, Barsamian, Mandelcorn and Zeytoonian LLP of Wellesley Hills. She focuses on family, probate, health, employment and elder law, with a particular interest in medical and health care-related cases and child advocacy.

The Training Associates of Westborough has promoted HERB BLANCHARD to vice president of sales and ANDREA TURNER to vice president of operations. Blanchard started at the company in 2002 as a client development manager serving the central United States. He led the company’s expansion into training outsourcing. In his new position, he will develop larger-scale trainer delivery efforts and develop the company’s client partnerships. Turner started at TTA in 1999 and served as director of sales, managing the national sales team. In her new role, she will shape corporate practices, develop internal processes and build operational partnerships.

JOHN SHEA, managing partner at the Lian, Zarrow, Eynon & Shea law firm in Worcester, will receive the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Community Service Award. The MBA was expected to present the award, given to attorneys who have made important public service contributions, at the Worcester County Bar Association’s annual Law Day Breakfast on May 1.

Worcester construction firm Cutler Associates has hired SAM AMATO JR. as director of pre-construction for corporate and industrial. In his new role, Amato will help the company estimate the cost of projects in the corporate/industrial marketplace. Amato has more than 20 years of experience in estimating, project planning and project management.

Fallon Community Health Plan of Worcester has appointed former Ambassador CHRISTOPHER F. EGAN and pediatrician LYNDA M. YOUNG to its board of directors. Egan, who served as the U.S. permanent representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in France under the George W. Bush administration, is president and a founding member of Carruth Capital LLC of Westborough. Young has practiced primary care pediatrics and taught students and medical residents at Chandler Pediatrics for 32 years. She is a professor of clinical pediatrics and chief of the Division of Community Pediatrics at UMass Memorial Medical Center.

WILLIAM J. “MAC” LYNCH, president of Worcester HVAC service company William F. Lynch Co. Inc., has been elected vice president and assistant treasurer of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. Lynch has served on the association’s board of directors since 2003 and serves on the national executive committee. He is has also served as president of the New England Mechanical Contractors Association.

State Rep. ROBERT P. SPELLANE, of the 13th Worcester District, has been appointed house chair of the Joint Committee on Public Service. As a leader of the committee, Spellane said he will work on pension reform issues and help address the question of how budget cuts will affect public employees.

DANIEL P. CONNELLY, a former business development manager for Dunkin’ Brands Inc., has joined the board of directors of the organization that represents Dunkin’ Donuts franchise owners. Connelly is the director of business management for Joyal Capital Management LLC in Plymouth.
