Gardner-based Heywood Wakefield Commons, an assisted living residence due to open in September, has appointed THOMAS W. MCMULLEN as executive director and KRISTY CLARK as director of marketing and admissions for the facility. McMullen worked as executive director of Christopher Heights assisted living residences in Worcester and Webster. Clark previously worked in the marketing department at the DCU Center in Worcester.
JOHN E. RAINEY has been named director of the Central Massachusetts office of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network at Clark University in Worcester. Rainey joined the staff at the center in 1995 as senior business advisor and financial specialist.
The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester has appointed the Rev. PHILIP L. BOROUGHS as president, MARYBETH KEARNS-BARRETT as director of the officer of college chaplains and MATTHEW T. KENNIS as assistant director of government and community. Boroughs is vice president for mission and ministry at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and will take office in January. A member of the Holy Cross Board of Trustees, he previously served as rector of the Jesuit Community at Seattle University in Washington. He replaces outgoing president, the Rev. Michael McFarland. Kearns-Barrett has been interim director since last year and a faculty advisor at the college for 10 years.
ALISON CONNELL was appointed vice president of celebrity services for Worcester-based marketing firm Paid Inc. She was previously a media director for Comcast’s northeast division, and before that a media supervisor for Arnold Worldwide, which has offices in Boston.
The Worcester Sharks named PAUL C. ALTMEYER JR. as director of corporate sales and KRISTYN GALANTE as an account executive. Altmeyer worked for the past six years as a senior technical recruiter with the Analog Group Inc. Galante was previously an inside sales representative with the Sharks.
MCC Magazines LLC has hired SCOTT ZIEGLER as publisher of Horseman’s Yankee Pedlar based in North Oxford. Most recently Ziegler served as the associate publisher of Continental Airlines magazine and as advertising director at Mass. Lawyers Weekly.
Music Worcester Inc. has named JENNIFER POTTS to the newly created position of director of development. Most recently Potts was co-founder and executive director of Cornerstone Performing Arts Center in Fitchburg.
RAYMOND L. QUINLAN has been elected chairman of the board of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, which is based in Worcester. Quinlan is president of Rayne Development Corp of Framingham. Also elected to the YMCA Board of Directors through 2014 are Kola Akindele of Worcester and THOMAS CONNORS of Acton. Re-elected to the board through 2014 were CHRISTOPHER BRAMLEY, JACK FOLEY, PAULA GREEN, DEBRA SEYMOUR, BASH TURAY and MARITA ZURAITIS. RUSSELL DYE of Holden and PAULA GREEN were voted vice chairmen.
Worcester-based Protector Group Insurance Agency Inc. has added EDWARD D. FITZGERALD and JOHN W. ROBERTSON as account executives. Fitzgerald previously worked as an account executive for TD Insurance and as a broker for Risk Strategies Co. Robertson previously worked as the regional sales director for Benefit Resource Inc.
Worcester-based Poise, Style and Motion Ballroom Dance Studio is now owned and managed by JARED VIGNEAULT of Worcester. Vigneault took over ownership on April 1 from previous owner Deb Galvin. He is an active member with the North American Dance Teachers Association and Dance Vision International Dance Association.
JOHN C. STOWE and LYNN TOKARCZYK have been reelected to the executive committee of Associated Industries of Massachusetts board of directors. Stowe is the president of Worcester-based bearings manufacturing company Lutco Inc. Tokarczyk is the president of Business Development Strategies Inc. in Medway.
Auburn-based Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester has added GEORGE CHARLES ALLEN, JEAN JESENSKY and ANDREW WEIGL to its board of directors. Allen is founding director and vice president of the Worcester Regional Flight Academy. Jesensky is principal of Holden-based Endswell Indexing. Weigl is a product management consultant in the financial services industry.
THERESA ECKSTROM has been named director of health services at Auburn VNA Health Network. She was previously director of programs and community relations for Elder Services of Worcester Area Inc.
LYNDA YOUNG and RICHARD AGHABABIAN have been named president and president-elect of Massachusetts Medical Society. Young is a pediatrician at Chandler Pediatrics in Worcester and chief of the division of community pediatrics at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center. Aghababian is a professor of emergency medicine at the UMass Medical School in Worcester.
