Becker College of Worcester and Leicester has chosen ARTHUR P. DIGERONIMO JR., president and CEO of Wavelengths Pro Audio LLC in Leominster, as chairman of its board of trustees. DiGeronimo is the former president of the Victory Supermarket chain founded by his family. He has served on the Becker board since 2005.
UMass Memorial Health Care and the University of Massachusetts Medical School have appointed MICHAEL L. BLUTE as director of the Cancer Center of Excellence, professor of surgery and interim director of the Division of Urology in the Department of Surgery. Blute previously served as a professor of urology at the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, Minn., where he has been a member of the faculty since 1987.
Whitinsville-based ERA Key Realty Services has hired DAVID KOVALSKY as the office manager for its Franklin branch. Kovalsky has more than three decades of experience in real estate, most of it with an ERA franchise. He joined ERA in 1985, working in broker management services including management training, financial reviews and managing business consultants.
Gov. Deval Patrick has appointed MARIAN J. MCBOVERN as the next superintendent and colonel of the Massachusetts State Police. McGovern has been a member of the state police since 1979, with duties including leading the detective unit assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office. She has been deputy superintendent since January.
The Westborough-based Female Leadership Interest Council has appointed three new advisory board members: CAITLIN CONNELLY, KIM HARMON and KATHRYN "KATHY" ZINGG HUNTER. Connelly is a green energy consultant and project manager who previously worked in green energy for the United Nations. Harmon is founder and CEO of Harmon Home Health Care in Worcester, which she opened in 2006. Hunter is president and CEO of YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
DAVID CYBULSKI was named vice president of finance Uxbridge-based Lenze-AC Tech. He was previously a vice president of finance and global controller with a consumer goods company. He started at his new position on Nov. 16. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Hartford and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Bryant University.
American Superconductor Corp. of Devens has promoted DANIEL P. MCGAHN to president and chief operating officer. McGahn will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations and will report to CEO Greg Yurek. McGahn joined AMSC in 2006 as vice president of strategic planning and corporate development, setting up the company’s operations in China.
Fallon Community Health Plan of Worcester has appointed TRACI-MARIE S. KASPARIAN as behavior health director. Kasparian will be responsible for the administrative, clinical and fiscal aspects of the insurer’s behavior health services and oversee the quality and access to services.
Montachusett Home Care Corp. of Leominster and Gardner has promoted GREGORY GIULIANO to executive director. Giuliano has been the assistant director of the nonprofit agency for the past year. Previously, he was a consultant for the City University of New York’s Brookdale Center for Aging, director of aging and disability services for the New York State Department of Social Services and director of Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Elder Affairs’ Protective Services Program.
Fallon Clinic has appointed two new executives, STEPHEN DOLAT and JOHN GILLESPIE JR. Dolat is Fallon’s new executive vice president of clinic operations, making him responsible for the operations of all Fallon sites, and well as helping to set the organization’s long-range goals. He previously worked for Newton contract research company Parexel. Gillespie is Fallon’s new executive director of strategic alliances. He has more than 30 years experience in health care management and strategy.
Medway exercise equipment company Cybex International Inc. has named ROBERT SMYTH, a former regional president of Citizens Bank, to its board. During his time at Citizens, Smyth was responsible for commercial banking for Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine and also coordinated all of the bank’s business lines in Massachusetts.
HANISHI T. ALI, a founding partner with the Mithras Law Group in Westborough, has been appointed by Gov. Deval Patrick to the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. Ali practices international business and U.S. and U.K. immigration law. She serves on the American Bar Association’s Commission on Immigration and is the Women in Profession chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.
