Boxborough-based Crossbeam Systems has promoted TIM MILLER as vice president of international sales and GEORGE MOGANNAM as vice president of sales for the Americas. Most recently, Miller was vice president of Crossbeam’s Americas sales organization, which realized double-digit growth over the past year. Mogannam was previously responsible for the American sales at IBM’s InfoSphere segment. Crossbeam also announced that it appointed company co-founder MIKE AKERMAN as chief technology officer. With more than 20 years of telecommunications and network security experience, he also served as director of advanced technology for Crossbeam. He was formerly vice president of engineering at security company Intrusic.
WILLIAM BOFFI was named associate dean for student success and retention at Nichols College in Dudley. He previously served as dean for student recruitment and retention at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill.
TIMOTHY JARRY was named chief investment officer for the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. He was previously associate CIO at the college. He has a bachelor’s degree from Holy Cross, a master’s in accounting and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.
St. Mary’s Credit Union of Marlborough has hired SARAH A. DAY of Shrewsbury as its marketing manager. She most recently held the position of marketing officer at Bay State Savings Bank in Worcester. St. Mary's also named BRENDA S. POMERLEAU assistant vice president of compliance. She previously was vice president of branch administration at NESC Federal Credit Union in Methuen.
Murphy Insurance Agency has hired MICHAEL A. WARE of Lancaster as a sales executive. He will be based out of the agency’s Marlborough office. A registered worker’s compensation specialist, Ware has 22 years of experience in the insurance industry.
WILLIAM JENKINS has been promoted to president of Hopkinton-based EMC’s backup recovery systems division. An EMC employee for 13 years, Jenkins most recently served as the division’s chief of staff. Jenkins replaces Frank Slootman who served as the president of the business unit since 2009. Slootman will remain in a formal advisory capacity to EMC.
The business networking and referral group Community Business Associates has elected new officers. BOB DATZ of Brimfield-based datzmedia was elected president; PAUL RAFFA of Southbridge Credit Union was named vice president; and JAY BRENNER of Universal Tag in Dudley, treasurer.
Spencer residents JUSTIN E. GRANT and CHRISTOPHER D. GREGOIRE have joined the Worcester-based Davis Advertising interactive team as web developers. Grant will be responsible for database interfacing while Gregoire will focus on social media for clients’ web-based projects.
Southbridge-based manufacturer Hyde Tools has promoted sales directors ROBERT B. CLEMENCE and LOUIS A. OLESKY JR. to vice presidents of sales. Clemence has worked for Hyde for 20 years and is a fourth-generation member of the Hyde Tools family business. Olesky has been a member of Hyde’s sales team for 26 years and is credited with leading the sales strategy for the company’s national accounts.
ANDREW J. KADETS has joined the Worcester-based law firm of Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple as an officer. He concentrates his practice in commercial and residential real estate, business law and estate planning and serves individuals, families and businesses of all sizes. Prior to joining FTW, Kadets was in private practice in Newton and Natick for seven years.
DOUGLAS J. PETERSEN, interim president and CEO of Workers’ Credit Union in Fitchburg, has been named to the position permanently. Before being named interim president in December, Petersen served as executive vice president, CFO and treasurer for the 67,000-member credit union. Petersen will also continue to serve as chief financial officer and treasurer in the short term.
The board of the Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts recently elected the following individuals as directors to three-year terms: DEBORAH L. PLUMMER, associate chancellor for diversity and equal opportunity at the University of Massachusetts Medical School; and ANN K. TRIPP, president of Opus Investment Management in Worcester. The board also elected directors to one-year terms as officers: GEORGE ABRAHAM, chairman; JOHN P. GUSHA, vice chairman; JEFFREY W. HILLIS, treasurer; and LYNDA M. YOUNG, secretary.
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has re-elected DEMITRIOS M. MOSCHOS, partner with the Worcester-based law firm of Mirick O’Connell, as chair of the chamber’s board of directors for 2011. Other re-elected officers: vice chair, DOUGLAS I. NIXON, Saint Gobain Abrasives; and clerk, ROBERT J. LEWIS, Bay State Savings Bank. New to the slate of officers is RICHARD P. BURKE, Fallon Community Health Plan, treasurer.
