The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has elected DEMITRIOS M. MOSCHOS, a partner at the law firm of Mirick O’Connell, as chairman of its board of directors. The chamber also elected DOUGLAS I. NIXON, vice president and general manager at Saint-Gobain Abrasives Inc., as vice chair; JAMES T. CURRAN, senior vice president at Sovereign Bank, as treasurer and ROBERT J. LEWIS, president of Bay State Savings Bank, as clerk.

AIS, a Hudson-based manufacturer of commercial office furniture, has hired RYAN LAVANGIE as regional vice president of sales for the New England market. LaVangie has 10 years of experience in the industry, including working for one of the company’s major competitors.

Penta Communications Inc. of Westborough has named MICHAEL MCCORMACK as client development associate. McCormack is a Hudson resident with experience in business development. In his new position, he will help Penta’s clients to grow.

LVI Print Optimization of Worcester has hired R.J. HOAR as print optimization executive. Hoar previously served as COO at Navtronics, a New Hampshire marine electronics company. He also has experience in the health care and software industries. LVI specializes in printing sales and marketing materials.

Worcester-based substance abuse and mental health treatment company Spectrum Health Systems Inc. has hired BERNARD SIGH as director of correctional compliance and new business development. In his new position, Sigh will try to expand Spectrum’s work, including increasing its visibility with correctional agencies and parole authorities nationally. He will also oversee compliance with existing contracts.

Barre Savings Bank has hired LOUISE JANHUNEN as assistant vice president and commercial loan officer. Janhunen has more than 20 years of experience in financial services. Most recently, she was senior vice president of commercial real estate lending at Rollstone Bank & Trust in Fitchburg. She has also held commercial and consumer lending jobs at Bank of Boston and Fleet Bank of Massachusetts. In her new job, Janhunen will develop new commercial ties for the bank and help grow and manage its commercial lending portfolio.

Clark University in Worcester has named PAULA R. DAVID as vice president of marketing and communications. In the newly created position, she will lead the Worcester university’s marketing, communications and public relations efforts, reporting directly to President John Bassett. Her job will include the creation and implementation of an integrated marketing plan for Clark’s undergraduate and graduate programs and research centers.

The Worcester accounting firm of Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull & Bitsoli PC has promoted LUIS N. MARTINEZ to supervisor and CHRISTOPHER J. MELENDEZ to senior accountant. Martinez has been with the firm for eight years. He lives in Athol and is a graduate of Bentley University.

Worcester law firm Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple PC has named MARISSA W. HIGGINS as a director of the firm. Higgins has been with the firm since 2005. She focuses on domestic relations law. She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross and earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. She serves on the board of the Rainbow Child Development Center Inc. and was named a “rising star” by Boston Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine for 2008.

The Training Associates, a Westborough company that provides trainer staffing and consulting, has hired two new employees. RICHARD G. SHULMAN is now the manager of strategic partnerships at TTA’s Enterprise Solutions Group. STEPHANIE M. ORSI was hired as an associate client representative. She has more than seven years as a trainer, including acting as lead instructor for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Boylston property management company Salisbury Management Inc. has promoted JESSICA L. STEWART to office coordinator. Stewart has been a receptionist for the company for the past two years. The company said it is promoting her thanks to her customer service skills and work ethic.

Country Bank, the Ware-based bank with branches in Charlton, Leicester, Paxton and West Brookfield, has named DENISE D. HAWK as first vice president and director of retail lending. Hawk has more than 20 years experience in the lending industry. In her new role, she will manage origination of the bank’s residential and consumer loans and lead the lending team.

Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge has hired a new anesthesiologist, WILFRED HYNES. Hynes will be part of hospital affiliate Harrington Physician Services. He comes to the hospital from Tufts New England Medical Center. He is also assistant professor of anesthesia at Tufts School of Medicine.n
