Marlborough Savings Bank has two new vice presidents, ELLEN W. DORIAN and KERRY W. MURTAGH. Dorian, who has been with the bank since 2001, was promoted to senior vice president of marketing and human resources. In the new position, she is responsible for all marketing functions. She also oversees human resources. Murtagh has joined the bank as vice president of retail lending. He comes to Marlborough from GB Mortgage, where he was vice president of sales and operations for the East Coast, and has 18 years of mortgage banking experience.

New England Peptide LLC of Gardner has hired VED SRIVASTAVA to fill the newly created role of vice president for research production. Srivastava most recently worked as associate director of discovery research at Amylin Pharmaceuticals Inc., and was also a member of NEP’s scientific advisory board. In his new job, he will oversee production at NEP. Srivastava has more than 20 years of experience in drug discovery, inflammation and metabolic diseases.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute has hired CHRISTOPHER RITTER as vice president for marketing and communications. Ritter will lead a 20-member marketing and public relations division and will help shape the PR component of the university’s capital campaign. Ritter has more than three decades of marketing and communications experience, most recently as chief marketing and communications officer for Binghamton University in New York. He was also the first director of university marketing at Clarkson University.

THOMAS VALENTINE has joined FMG Financial Services Inc. of Worcester as a financial adviser. Valentine has worked in a number of advertising and finance fields, including financial services, banking and mortgage financing. At FMG he will focus on advising individuals and families.

RXi Pharmaceuticals of Worcester has appointed New York cardiologist RUDOLPH NISI to its board of directors. Nisi is chairman of the board and an attending physician at Westchester Square Medical Center in the Bronx. He has also been a clinical professor of medicine at Cornell University Medical College for more than 10 years.

Fidelity Bank of Leominster has hired RAJ MEHRA as executive vice president and CFO. Mehra will oversee asset-liability management, investments, risk management, finance and accounting. Mehra has worked as CFO at a Maryland bank, as a national director of a large New York accounting firm and as a fixed income strategist for New York investment banks.

CHRISTOPHER S. BORDEN, vice president of Canby Financial Advisors LLC in Framingham, has become an equity owner in the firm. Borden joined the firm in 2000 and became vice president in 2005. He has nearly 25 years of experience in financial services, including stints at Fidelity Investments, Allmerica Financial and New England Financial.

Hopkinton data storage giant EMC has elected RANDOLPH L. COWEN to its board of directors. Cowen is the former co-chief administrative officer, global head of technology and operations and chief information officer for the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. He will also serve on EMC’s leadership and compensation committee and mergers and acquisitions committee.

RCAP Solutions, a nonprofit based in Gardner, has hired BEN N. EL-QASEM as CFO. El-Qasem has 23 years of experience in finance and administration, including three years as treasurer of the Maryland Association of Psychiatric Support Services. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and English from Western Maryland College and an MBA from the University of Baltimore.

ASHLEIGH C. GELINAS has joined the Gelinas & Ward LLP law firm in Leominster. Gelinas is a recent graduate of Suffolk University Law School. She practices in the fields of estate planning, estate administration, business and commercial law, commercial lending and residential and commercial real estate.

Davis Advertising of Worcester has hired three new employees. CHRIS CORBETT joins the firm as online strategist. In this position, he works on clients’ e-mail marketing, web site design, Internet advertising and search engine optimization. ALANA WHITE is a new graphic designer for the firm, working with clients including Charter Communications and iMake News Inc. She has a degree in visual communications from Endicott College and has interned at VanGo Graphics in Millbury and Philips Design Group in Boston. TRAVIS SPIVA is a new account executive, providing account service and project management, working on Charter Communications campaigns in Louisiana and Tennessee. He previously worked as an area-marketing director for a food service company.
