Sepaton Inc., a Marlborough-based data security firm, has appointed JAY KRAMER as vice president of worldwide marketing. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, Kramer is well prepared to take on his new position, where he will oversee all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts. He graduated from Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University in New York with degrees in marketing and finance.
DARREN L. HILL of Hudson has been named a mortgage originator at St. Mary’s Credit Union in Marlborough. Hill will be responsible for helping to develop and expand the credit union’s mortgage business by working with local realtors and directly with home buyers.
Hometown Bank’s Webster branch welcomed TINA M. PUZO of Dudley as its new branch manager. The bank also elected new officers to its board of directors. The newly elected officers are: JEANNE L. KATRENAK, chair; JAMES O’COIN, vice-chair; MATTHEW S. SOSIK, president, CEO and treasurer; SAM S. PAPPAS, first vice president and DANIEL S. ROVERO, second vice president. Also, the following positions were filled: JONATHAN OGLEBAY, assistant vice president and assistant treasurer; MICHAEL MAHLERT, vice president and senior loan officer; JOHN NUTTER, assistant vice president and security officer; NORMA COLLINS, assistant vice president of operations and PAULA DUHAMEL, clerk of the board. ROBERT DUTEAU, WINDSOR BIGELOW and DONALD CLAPROOD retired from the board and were recognized for their more than 75 years of combined service to the bank.
Paresky Flitt & Co. LLP, a certified public accounting firm located in Wayland hired JONATHAN D. NOVAK of Shrewsbury as a staff accountant. In his new position, Novak will work with different clients and manage complex accounting and tax issues. He attended Northern Illinois University where he earned bachelor’s and master’s of accounting science degrees while also working at the Mueller & Co. accounting firm as a staff accountant. His previous work involved tax preparation, audit review work and preparation of financial statements.
North Brookfield Savings Bank recently appointed STEVEN KUSEK JR. to the position of mortgage originator. In his new position, Kusek will be responsible for assisting homeowners in Palmer, Belchertown, West Brookfield and North Brookfield, as well as surrounding towns. The bank also welcomed ERICA FLOYD as the new assistant branch manager in Palmer and DAVID GOLDEN as the new branch manager in Palmer and Belchertown.
DIANE L. LECLAIR of Framingham has been named chair of the VNA Care and Network Foundation board of directors. Leclair, a certified public accountant, graduated from Bentley College in Waltham with a bachelor’s and from Babson College in Babson Park with an MBA. Today, she is senior vice president for Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull & Bitsoli PC in Worcester, where she has worked for 30 years.
UniBank for Savings of Whitinsville announced that KRISTIN M. PERRO and JANET L. ALBERT were promoted to branch managers. Perro, of Sutton, will be the branch manager of the bank’s Uxbridge branch. She will lead the sales staff and business development in the Uxbridge area. Albert, a resident of Douglas, was promoted to officer and branch manager of UniBank’s Sutton branch.
Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc., a Watertown-based engineering firm with operations in Worcester, announced that 11 staff members have earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council. The newly accredited professionals in the region are: JEFF FASSER, director of landscape architecture; JEAN GARBIER, senior landscape architect; ERIN HEACOCK, environmental planner; SELMA MANDZO, transportation engineer; MIKE PAIEWONSKY, environmental planner and project manager; ANNE PODKAMINER, environmental planner; NIA RODGERS, landscape architect; GRIFFIN RYDER, senior project engineer; SUSAN SLOAN-ROSSITER, principal and senior project manager; KIM THRELFALL, environmental scientist and JASON ZOGG, planner.
Mercury Media, a direct response media agency based in Marlborough, announced that DOUG FOX was appointed as senior director of business development, where he will identify, pursue and secure new client engagements. Fox has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and business development, previously working with clients such as American Express, Bostonian, Disney, Duracell, EMC, Fidelity, Gillette, Sony Electronics and more.
ERNEST “ED” O’BRIEN was appointed president of Worcester-based Cutler Associates, a design and construction firm. O’Brien takes over for FREDERIC MULLIGAN, who had served as president for 25 years. Mulligan was named chairman and will continue to play an active role in the company.
