UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester has hired hospital medicine physician VARINTHA BADDAM, radiation oncology physician ERIC KO, radiology and neurology physician VARUN NARAGUM, and anesthesiology and pain medicine physician SAM NIA. Baddam received her medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in India and completed her residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Ko earned his degree from State University of New York, Buffalo and completed his residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Naragum obtained his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in India and completed his residency program at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Nia earned his degree from New York Medical College and completed his residency program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
LAILA MHIRIG has been appointed to assistant vice president and business development sales manager of the Cornerstone Bank’s branch in Holden. Prior to her promotion, Mhirig worked for Commerce Bank of Worcester, gaining more than 20 years of experience within the banking industry, working her way up to assistant vice president and branch officer. She serves on the board of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester.
MARY BETH JOKELA has been hired by Rollstone Bank & Trust to serve as its first vice president of operating administration. With her new position, Jokela will be providing leadership for Rollstone’s enterprise-wide initiatives and managing key vendor relationships. Prior to her employment by Rollstone, she served as the senior vice president of finance and operations at Marlborough IT services provider Versatile. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham and an MBA from Nichols College in Dudley.
MARK BIGELOW of Marlborough has joined ERA Key Realty Services as a Realtor in its Marlborough office. Bigelow is also a finance manager for C&J Clark America in Waltham and was previously a senior financial analyst for TJMaxx.com. He has a bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.
RON DUCHARME has been appointed vice president of business development at Covectra, a Westborough software company, leading the company’s marketing, sales and new business development worldwide. Ducharme previously worked for nearly 40 years at Spencer manufacturer FLEXcon in technical, marketing and product management roles, most recently as market development manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nichols College in Dudley and an MBA from Suffolk University.
JOANNE PIZZIGNO and WILLIAM EASTTY have been respectively promoted to vice president of the loan servicing department and senior vice president of MutualOne Bank of Framingham. Pizzigno joined MutualOne in 2014 after being employed at Maryland real estate firm Walker Dunlop, LLC, and One United Bank in Boston. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and political science from Dowling College in New York and a master’s degree in political science from C.W. Post College in New York. Prior to Eastty’s employment by MutualOne in 2012, he was vice president of residential lending at Crescent Credit Union in Taunton. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University in Rhode Island.
PAUL CICHOCKI has been appointed the new executive vice president for membership, analytics and business transformation at BJ’s Wholesale Club of Westborough. In his new position, he is responsible for the company’s membership, marketing and analytics organizations, and will report directly to President and CEO Lee Delaney.
