DOUG BROWN, president of community hospitals and chief administrative officer for UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, was elected into the membership of the American Antiquarian Society, a national research library of pre-20th century American history located in Worcester. Brown received this honor in recognition of his medical leadership and his writings on health care.
Worcester software company Bluestream hired TYLER CRAIG as its first senior vice president of sales. Craig will oversee pipeline development, forecasting, and revenue for Blustream. Before joining Bluestream, Craig served as vice president of business development and sales at Minim, a communication device company headquartered in Boston.
Worcester behavioral health nonprofit Open Sky Community Services has elected GINA PLATA-NINO to its board. Plata-Nino is an attorney at Central West Justice Center, an affiliate of Community Legal Aid in Worcester, which specializes in food insecurity. She has earned several recognitions for her advocacy efforts including the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Rising Star Award in 2019 and the Katharine Erskine Award for Business and Law from the YWCA Central Massachusetts.
Cutler Capital Management, LLC, an investment management firm in Worcester, hired KRISTIAN THOMAS-HERRINGTON as its new client service manager. Her role includes account administration, updating client information, and serving as the day-to-day contact to Cutler clients and strategic partners. Thomas-Herrington earned her bachelor’s degree from Pine Manor College in Boston.
SUSAN RUSSO was appointed regional director at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Commonwealth Real Estate in Natick, a division of Commonwealth Realty Group, LLC. Previously, Russo worked as a senior vice president at William Raveis Real Estate where she managed the Boston and Greater Boston – North regions.
Workers Credit Union in Littleton named MICHAEL DUFFANY as senior vice president of commercial lending. Duffany’s new responsibilities include overseeing the business banking division. Previously, Duffany led business banking divisions in Connecticut and in Central Mass. for Berkshire Bank.
LaVoieHealthScience in Boston appointed TONY BERRY, as vice president of media relations. Berry is a media relations expert with more than 25 years of experience in the media and public relations industries. Berry most recently served as senior director of media and public relations for UMass Memorial Health in Worcester. Berry earned his undergraduate degree in communications from Marquette University in Wisconsin and his graduate degree in business from Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut.
JOEL WALLEN joined Pernet Family Health Service in Worcester as the organization’s new associate executive director. Wallen has established a 15-year career in the nonprofit sector. Previously, he served as the youth development programs director at Youth Crossroads Inc. in Illinois and as a board member for Berwyn Awake in Illinois. Wallen graduated from Cedarville University in Ohio with an undergraduate degree in pastoral studies and earned a master’s degree in nonprofit management from DePaul University in Chicago. He earned two nonprofit business certificates from Notre Dame University.
Knight-Dik Insurance of Worcester hired CHRISTOPHER CHIANESE as its newest commercial lines producer. As a producer, Chianese will function as an advisor helping clients to manage their risks through comprehensive and cost-effective insurance. Prior to joining Knight-Dik, Chianese worked as a senior account executive for Constant Contact.
Attorney KIRSTEN DEMOGA has joined Mirick O’Connell in Worcester as partner in the family law and divorce group. Demoga has more than 15 years of experience in family law and was named a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star by Boston magazine and Law & Politics. Before joining Mirick O’Connell, she was a partner at Barach Law Group in Framingham. During her legal career, Demoga has served as a special master, parent coordinator, and guardian ad litem.
