GLENN GAUDETTE, a professor of biomedical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, has been named a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. As a member of the NAI 2019 Fellows, Gaudette joins 168 educators and researchers representing 136 universities and governmental and nonprofit research institutes worldwide. Gaudette is the founding director of the WPI Myocardial Regeneration Lab, where he has pioneered the use of plants as scaffolding for heart regeneration. His research aims to develop a treatment for the millions of Americans suffering from myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases.

REARDON

DAN REARDON has joined the Concord Group Insurance Cos. in Westborough overseeing sales and relationship development across Massachusetts. He has more than three decades of experience in property and casualty insurance, including managing marketing staff.

BROCK

VALERIE BROCK has been promoted to director of fermentation and cellaring at Wachusett Brewing Co. in Westminster. She was most recently the brewery’s microbiologist, and she has 10 years of experience in bacteriology, fermentation science, quality assurance, and sensory analysis. She replaces brewmaster DAVE HOWARD, who stepped down after more than 20 years at Wachusett.

KUSZ

ERICA KUSZ of Holden has been appointed as assistant clinical director at Behavior Concepts in Worcester. Kusz, a board-certified behavioral analyst and a licensed applied behavior analyst, joined BCI in 2015 as a behavior analyst and was then promoted to assistant director of early intervention services. Kusz holds a bachelor’s degree in communication, sciences and disorders from Worcester State University and a master’s degree in applied behavior analysis from Endicott College in Beverly.

MILLER

LUCAS MILLER of Leicester has joined Bay State Savings Bank in Worcester as senior vice president and general counsel, overseeing information technology and facilities, along with regulatory compliance and legal affairs. Miller has more than 20 years of experience in legal and financial services.

ALLEN

DAVID ALLEN is the new vice president of L.S. Starrett Co.’s Starrett Metrology Systems. In the new role for the Athol company, Allen is responsible for the strategy, growth and profitability of the advanced metrology systems including Starrett Bytewise, Tru-Stone Technologies, Starrett-Kinemetric Systems, Starrett metrology software development and Starrett Special Gage Department. Allen was most recently the vice president for energy and industrial markets for Mott Corp. in Connecticut. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

The Westborough-based Massachusetts Package Stores Association has appointed new board members to three-year terms and officers to one-year terms starting in January. CORREIA

BlueHive Group, a Worcester events management company, has formed a new leadership team for its affiliate company, Trigon Creative, its in-house marketing agency. CAITLYN CORREIA, with more than 10 years of day-to-day management experience, is its vice president of operations, with duties including expense control, staff management and department supervision. CHRIS GREGOIRE is the vice president of brand strategy, with more than 17 years of sales and marketing experience. JILLIAN FAFARD is the creative director, with 10 years of brand development, creative strategy and copywriting and content development experience. JESSICA CHASE is the new art director, with 14 years of graphic design and visual direction experience. ERIC TROY joins Trigon as social media manager, focusing on analytics to help the leadership team to ensure the effectiveness of clients’ digital content.

TRINNY PINEDA of Worcester has been promoted to branch manager for Bay State Savings Bank’s 799 Grafton St. location in Worcester. She has 16 years of banking experience and joined Bay State Savings Bank in 2003 as a teller. She was later promoted to senior teller, head teller and branch supervisor, and serves on the bank’s employee appreciation committee.
