Dr. BRUCE BERTRAND has joined Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer as the new chief of radiology overseeing the radiology department and the hospital’s radiology services. He joins the hospital from Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, where he was a general and interventional radiologist. Before working at Saint Anne’s, Bertrand served as the chief medical officer, vice president of medical affairs, and chief of radiology for Heywood Healthcare in Gardner. Bertrand earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
ANDY SHARRY has been appointed business development and sales director of Worcester Fitness. Sharry’s goals with this new position will be focusing on developing new strategic partnerships in the community including corporate business development. He has been a part of Worcester Fitness since 2015, working as the director of fitness and wellness prior to his promotion. Before Worcester Fitness, Sharry worked for the YMCA of Central Mass.
The board of The Health Foundation of Central Mass. has elected members to serve three-year terms. On the community outreach committee: CASEY BURNS, the director of Coalition for a Healthy Greater Worcester; AUDREY SMOLKIN, director of child and family policy at UMass Medical School’s Commonwealth Medicine; and JUDITH KIRK, director of community impact at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester. On the investment committee: LINDSAY F. GREENFIELD, vice president and co-head of portfolio management for Opus Investment Management in Worcester; and SARAH PULSIFER, vice president of investment product management at Fidelity Investments. On the nominating committee: TRACY L. HUTCHINSON, president and CEO of GAAMHA Inc. in Gardner. On the audit committee: KEVIN G. JOHNSON, partner at O’Connor, Maloney & Company P.C. in Worcester.
RACHEL PARIKH has been appointed as the new Asian art curator at the Worcester Art Museum. With her new position, Parikh will develop a vibrant exhibition program, rethinking the narrative of WAM’s permanent galleries, and building on the museum’s holdings with new acquisitions. Prior to WAM, Parikh worked at the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge. She holds a Ph.D. in art history from the University of Cambridge with an expertise in South Asian and Islamic painting.
MAJLINDA HAXHIAJ has been promoted to vice president, small business development officer for Clinton Savings Bank. Haxhiaj will develop and implement growth strategies between organizations. She has more than 21 years of banking experience at Clinton Savings, with even more experience at the National Commercial Bank of Albania. She grew up in Tirana, Albania and received her MBA in economics from the University of Tirana-Albania.
WALTER GACEK has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for Franklin manufacturer Tegra Medical. He will now assume responsibility for all sales and marketing activities for the company’s device manufacturing and quick wire and tubing businesses. Prior to joining Tegra in 2009, he spent 15 years in several high ranking roles in the medical device industry. He holds a master’s degree in plastics engineering from UMass Lowell.
SHAUNNA MONTS has been selected to be the new vice president of human resources & professional development at Venture Community Services in Sturbridge. She will oversee all of the agency’s human resources initiatives and compliance. Monts brings more than 15 years of experience in human resources, most recently serving as director of human resources for Wellmore Behavioral Health in Connecticut. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human development & family resources from the University of Connecticut.
NICHOLAS D. RIVELLI has joined ERA Key Realty Services as a realtor for the Auburn office. Prior to ERA, Rivelli worked as a biomedical researcher after he received his degree in biology from UMass. He plays for the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band.
JOSEPH BOSTEK of Oxford is the new CFO of Fuller’s Automotive Cos. of Auburn. Bostek has 31 years of experience working for multinational companies and the Internal Revenue Service.
JOHN F. FAIRBANKS joins IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg as a member of the supervisory committee. Fairbanks comes to IC with more than 26 years of experience in the field of management and accounting. He is a veteran, completing his military service as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force and earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in systems management.
ROBERT PERITZ has been appointed by Cornerstone Bank as its new vice president and mortgage loan officer of its new loan center location in Westborough. Peritz has more than 20 years of mortgage industry experience and 15 years of banking experience. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
