JOHN LAPAN, RAY DUNHAM and SCOTT BEATTIE were hired by Marlborough-based Conti-Younger Associates Inc. — an electronic manufacturers' representative — following its acquisition of Focus Sales Inc. in Marlborough. LaPan was hired as a vice president and sales engineer for the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts regions; Dunham will serve as a business development specialist; and Beattie is sales engineer for the Central Mass., Eastern Mass. and Southern New Hampshire regions.
DAVID SONTAG is the new owner and a CPA at Leominster-based Sontag and Associates, previously Richard Letarte CPA of Leominster. Letarte will remain with the firm. Sontag is a resident of Fitchburg.
KEVIN M. SWEENEY, a business professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, was named to the board of Springfield Technical Community College. He has a doctor of law degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
DOROTHY A. COTE and TIFFANY A. BREAU were promoted by Rehabilitative Resources Inc. in Sturbridge. Cote was promoted to assistant CEO and Breau was named director of property management and information technology. Cote was previously the organization's chief financial officer and will continue in that role. She began working at RRI in 1982 and recently served as interim CEO. Breau, a resident of Dudley, has been with RRI since 2002. She was most recently executive assistant to the CEO.
EDWARD F. MANZI JR., chairman and CEO of Leominster-based Fidelity Bank, was named to the board of The Co-Operative Central Bank, which is operated by all 53 Massachusetts co-operative banks. He is a resident of Webster and previously worked as president and CEO of the Shirley Co-Operative Bank. Manzi became president and CEO of Fidelity Bank in 1997 and chairman in 2010.
JENNIFER J. HYLTON and BARENT W. WALSH were elected directors to the board of the Health Foundation of Worcester. Hylton is executive director of the Counseling & Assessment Clinic of Worcester; Walsh is executive director of The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, based in Worcester. The board also elected the following directors as officers: Dr. John P. Gusha as chairman; Jeffrey W. Hillis as treasurer; Dr. Lynda M. Young as secretary; and Dr. George M. Abraham as immediate past chairman.
RICHARD HERRON JR. and BILLIE-JO TOZZI have been hired by Worcester-based Herlihy Insurance Group. Herron, a Boylston resident, is vice president of sales in the commercial lines department. Tozzi, of Oxford, is an account executive in the commercial lines department.
DR. ALLIS KIM, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has been hired by Marlborough Hospital. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. She completed her orthopedic residency at Albany Medical Center and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City and New York University Medical Center.
JOHN WEBBER was hired by Worcester-based Sullivan Benefits as vice president. He previously served in various capacities with United Healthcare, Wausau Insurance Cos. and State Mutual. Webber earned a bachelor's of business administration in management from Bentley University in Waltham.
STUART LOOSEMORE was elected to the board of directors of the Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce Executives (MACCE). He is director of government affairs and public policy at the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. Loosemore will also serve as co-chair of the MACCE Council of Chambers, a public policy forum featuring speakers on topics specific to chambers and their members. He was previously staff director and general counsel at the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Loosemore has a bachelor's degree from Clark University in Worcester and a law degree from New England School of Law in Boston.
GRZEGORZ WENC, ELIZABETH LEONARD and CHRISTOPHER McNAMARA were hired by Robert C. Alario CPA in Leominster. Wenc was named senior tax and trust accountant. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence. Wenc most recently worked as a senior tax associate for KPMG. Leonard was named tax manager. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. McNamara, the firm's new junior staff accountant, holds a bachelor's degree from Fitchburg State University.
ALICIA CARRIERO has joined Worcester-based environmental remediation and civil contacting firm Tantara Corp. as a safety coordinator. She previously worked for Sovereign Consulting, where she was a field scientist and safety coordinator for federal programs for seven years. At Tantara, Carriero will track physicals and certifications, as well as manage annual training sessions and perform field activities.
JOEL LOITHERSTEIN was promoted to vice president at Marlborough-based water and wastewater consulting firm Tata & Howard. He joined the firm in 2011 and has nearly 40 years of experience in the wastewater and hazardous waste fields.
